Hey I found this k-9 ready to roll perfect color. Really like the bike. I give them a call and the sales guy wont budge on the price at all. I know Rodneys had an 09 version of the exact same bike that sold here last summer for way less. Ive heard of ppl getting new 09's for 19 and 20.

I try to reason with the guy saying that the price is awfully steep for a bike with no warranty and no support (except for this site). He tells me that big dog is still in business and he is expecting some new 2013's !
say waaa ?!? :job:

I didnt argue, whatever, just means that I cant trust him to ship the bike and I need to go pick it up in person (all the way to NY). Finally blah blah blah and the bottom dollar is 24.5k.

I was thinking 20-22max because I really like that color. Not really happy about that much for an 08 though. What do you guys think ?

Looks like the guy has several new bikes that are not moving.

Find out who the owner of the business is and deal directly with him/her...tell them your ready to buy it now, today..over the phone and give them your debit/credit card number to secure the purchase. Tell him you will wire the money to pay the bike in full the same day if they can get the paperwork ready now, if not you will do it the following day. I have purchased many of high end cars (for me...a new Carrera, Lingenfelter Vette etc) and it works...no bs, no tire kicking...My last .02 when you speak with the owner inform them that you want them to make a fair profit relative to the bike and current market conditions and this is the basis of your cash offer.

You're right. I found his thread on the last 40 and PM'd him directly. Not sure he's active here though.

Nice bike....go with your gut.
If you use a card to get him to make the deal, I say make it a credit card instead of a debit.

I bought my brand new '09 K9 for $24,000 while Big Dog was still in business and I still had a factory warranty. Sounds like a very steep price to me!

I wonder, when a bike has been standing for 4 years in what shape are tires, bushings, bearings, piston rings...?

They were selling brand new 09's coyote's in Ohio for $19,000 when the big dog/ harley dealership was bought out. My buddy worked there and said they just wanted to unload them. Without a warranty I think I wouldnt want to pay more than that.

Tell them you have cash and you will hold out for a 2013. Have them call you as soon as they get one.

Your thinking is about right! Is it Carb or EFI? EFI will be priced a little higher. There's not much info on the scoot in the link.

You'd have to be nuts to pay that when custom bikes are going for peanuts these days. The 2007 is a better deal by far, 3k mi is nothing. Stay away from EFI, nobody knows how to work on it.

Edit I see it has 7k mi, still the better deal if the bike was cared for.
