Unfortunately the chrome on Arlen Ness products is about as china as it gets. He made his fortune and don't give a rats ass about quality any more. I have gone through three sets of his mirrors, looks good but quality is china.

That's what I thought,,,, Sad!!!!

Good chrome seems to only exist if you have it done here yourself. I have had Space Coast Plating do several sissy bars including the one I have had on my bike for seven years and its just like new. I don't take special care of it mostly it gets wiped down once and a while that's it...

HD's chrome used to be real good, my 96 Ultra looked like new my 2011 looks ten years old!!!

When I saw your post on this kickstand, I ordered one and received it the next day. Talk about fast delivery, man they are on it. I peeled the wrapper off it last night and didn't see any problems with the chrome. if it changes, I'll keep you posted.
Took mine a week to get to PA. Now they want me to pay return shipping. They won't return any calls or e-mails. Never deal with them again.

Finally heard from Powersport Parts, they e-mailed me a return shipping label and said they would send me out another. I just hope the new one isn't peeling chrome.

Reading posts about this kickstand and if its telescopic how do you lock it in place to keep the bike upright ?

It is threaded, to adjust it you turn cw/ccw to go it in/out. Once adjusted there is a set screw to hold in place.

On my K9 that kickstand kicks the rear brake and specially the brake hose..... Replaced it with the one from Kaptin today.

I tried one of the Arlen Ness units on my previous K-9 -- Hated it. With the stock the bike never sunk into asphalt, with the Arlen Ness twice I came out and it was basically over on its side. (Once was in same parking lot which was new asphalt both times and hotter the day I had the stock uinit on - that extra padding on the foot makes a difference.)

MIne did too, I "adjusted" the line a little bit to clear it.

Post up some pics of the new one when you get it. looks like the same design, but not adjustable.

Understandable. There is less surface area with the round ones.

That happened with my OEM one too. Came out and it was about 2' into the asphalt. Especially since it leans over so far, which is why I replaced it. I started carrying a puck after that.
