Do you use Seafoam and do you notice any improvement?

I've used Seafoam in my cars and also in my Harley every dozen tankfuls or so.

Never used in on a BDM, do you?

If my carb seems to need cleaned out after winter storage I top off the tank and use sea foam. Seems to clean it out pretty quickly.

Seafoam does work well. I use it for my 1952 Ford that sits around way too long between starts. Not sure about the big dogs and the gas tank liner? You could put it in the gas line from the tank. Let it sit for a day then start and run bike.

My carb was sputtering from not enough driving, I sprayed directly into the carb while just over idling , used about 2/3 or the spray can and it made a WORLD of difference.

FYI: SEAFOAM is made for 2 cycle engines period...... BDM engines are 4 stroke.... seafoam cleans carbon in two stroke engines. Gas and oil mix creates a lot of carbon build up. If you want a cleaner use a nitrogen based cleaner. Tecron uses a nitrogen base. You buy seafoam your spending $ for nothing.no nitrogen in seafoam. Tecron has nitrogen that’s why it cost more. If your storing your bike use sta-Bil. If it’s going to sit use sta-Bill. But I’m telling you forget what grandpa did or told you. DONT PUT SEAFOAM IN ANYTHING EXCEPT A 2 STROKE. PERIOD....

Very good to know.

I guess the question now becomes: "is there any reason to put any type of cleaner in your tank?"
(In my case I'm riding at least once per week on the highway ~30 miles)

I've used Techron, Seafoam and Marvel Mystery Oil.

Techron -- no noticable results
Seafoam -- cleared up what seemed like clog in injectors
Marvel Mystery Oil -- somewhere between techron and Seafoam.

This is only my experience..

Seafoam does on the can say 2 and 4 cycle engine.
I also had my neighbor use it in his '16 Harley and it never ran so well for him.

I have carb bikes I only put super unleaded and sta-bil. And stabil if I know it going to sit for more than a month. I put it in to save the gaskets in carb. This new crappy fuel will eat your carb up if it sits too long. I put it in my mower and gator, welder, pressure washer, basically anything that I don’t use all the time, some machines don’t have petcocks that being said the ones that do I still shut the pet cock off and let the engine run out of fuel. This crappy ethanol fuel will ruin gaskets. Since boat engine manufacturers started making better boat motors/ 4 stroke engines, the sale of seafoam had all but fallen off market . The marketing people talked with engineers and found out that seafoam will not harm a 4stroke engine or at least couldmy be proven to harm, they decided to change the label to say 2or 4 stroke. Look at an old can and a redesigned can same product different label. Do what you want I’m just giving you the info that I know. If I need to clean a carb I use berrymans B-12. Only for cleaning. Nitrogen based additive would be the one I would use. If you want to clean that 117 engine add 1 part 110 or lower race fuel,2 parts super unleaded. And only every once and a while like a long ride continually on the throttle. I did that with my GSXR 1100 drag bike all the time when I sent my head to be ported they were really impressed with the cleanliness of the engine.

Never tried it in the carb'ed bike only the EFI.
Generally when I use it I use less than the spec'ed amount and typically run thru nearly 2 tanks of gas when I am out on a run.
It's a standing joke around here that my first and last 21 miles are almost always the same.
Live on an island and I have to drive to get out of town and hit the bridge to get to the mainland. SO there's goes a 1/4 tank before I even get started really!

Not trying to start anything, but years ago I was the store manager of a NAPA Auto Parts store. When working there a Seafoam rep came to show us their product, I was amazed at what I saw that day. The guy took a can of seafoam and used my car as the demo, I had a 95 Trans Am, with a ZZ502 create motor in it, the motor had been worked over by Fulton Racing here in Spartanburg and roughly produced 900 H.P. with the dual 300 shot of NOS, 700 H.P. at the rear wheels. And close to 750 ft-lbs of torque. I had well over 20,000 in the motor and NOS system. But this Rep put a can of seafoam in my tank, he sprayed it straight into the air intake and he took a vacuum line loose and put the hose into a can, now i raced this car on the drag strip but it was still street legal barely, but I ran 110 octane sometimes mixed with 97 octane. But when my car started smoking like and old coal locomotive I started to freak out thinking something was bad wrong, but it really was just the carbon and crap burning out the engine. My car ran smoother, it was just a hair quieter as far as any engine noise I had noticed, which with the exhaust system it was very hard to hear the engine noise except very high RPM's. Now I know its claimed to only be for 2 cycle engines but that truly is not the case, it may have been years ago, but look at their product lines, they have fuel injection cleaners which I've never personally seen a fuel injected weed eater before but I'm sure someone makes one, fuel system cleaners for gas and diesel engines never seen a 2 cycle diesel either, my suggestion would be pick up a can of whatever you feel will work best for your needs after doing research on different products, or as one person posted they tried 3 different ones, one did nothing, one made a difference and the other I think did too can't remember now. Me, i have used seafoam in both my Bigdogs and they both are running at the moment, knock on wood. lol. But go to seafoamsales.com and read their reviews, their question and answer page.

I never thought about just having one way in and out I have a Three way(lol) intersection. that last 21 miles is auto pilot by now. If people think it works for them and are happy then by all means use it. I have never researched STA-BIL. But I use it. It does work. I have researched SEAFOAM and like I said it’s for 2 stroke engines. I try and buy gas and diesel at the same spots, not always possible, does that mean that gas is bad at other stations? No. I just feel comfortable because I have never had a problem at those spots. Sea foam works great in two stroke engines. I just know that a nitrogen based additive is a hell of a lot better in a 4 stroke. Lucas makes a great diesel injection product. Now as for the transmission crap that they make, I had a diesel with 100k on it went in and bought some injector cleaner saw the transmission additive for high mileage so I said what the hell ive seen their little wheel display and have spun it a few times I said damn must be better. I put it in and no shit the very next day trsnny wouldn’t shift between 4 and fifth without letting off the petal. Two of my solenoids went bad in the tranny. Were thay bad before I put it in? No. Did it cause them to go bad? I don’t know. But they went bad the next day. That tells me a lot. Never agin tranny crap in my tranny. Yes I still use the Lucas injection cleaner. Especially when I’m hauling cows or horses. Just trying to be helpful and informative. Do a little research on SEAFOAM look it up on internet and you-tube. It’s great in boats.

I have other ways out, but its traffic hell.
I'm in the Myrtle Beach area and from Little River SC to Georgetown, SC is seperated from everything else by the intercoastal waterway and there are a limited number of bridges -- easiest is 21miles and I can take some non-highway around the next two towns from me to avoiad all the aholes on the road.

I'll look into the seafoam stuff, but as I said it has worked in mine.
Not a fan of sta-bil but I try not to let the bike sit for extended periods.
