Well, I have been waiting for a set of these 2004 Ridgeback polished lower fork legs to pop up so I could swap them out with my chrome-peeling-piece-of-shit ones on my bike. :whoop: :whoop: :whoop:

Good ole' shovelheadkicker on Ebay for $136 like new without scratches!!

That guy always has a bunch of BDM eBay stuff.
He's got some chrome K-9 sissy bar struts that I was hoping were actually billet.
He responds quickly if you have questions. Good seller.

wow jake you must of got a bad set, mine is 05 and look fine.

wont big dog help you out some

No, BDM won't do a thing after 6 months on chrome. Look at the inside where the fender mount block is bolted to the fork tube I bet yours are pitted or peeling back there. I have kept mine waxed since new and they have gone to crap. So, eliminate the chrome and go back to the polished, It can always be cleaned up.

I found small bubbles under the chrome on my 05 chopper's forks and last year BDM said they wont fix chrome over a year. My forks have been well cared for too.
It is cheaper to get a cheap chrome job, its sad that BDM went that route. I know my Harley chrome looks like new and its 13 years old.

Well, broke the forks down this morning and swapped out the lower legs. Looks much better!!

The lower legs actually match the wheels, triple trees, caliper, and fork brace now. I do not know why BDM started chroming the lower legs and leaving the triple trees and stuff polished because it didn't match.

I replaced all the zinc hardware with stainless steel and took and ditched the plain bolts that hold the fender struts on and replaces with stainless machine allen bolts. All looks nice and new now!

...AND THE SAGA CONTINUES...............

...Well the saga now continues and the chrome is begining to fail.

The chome on the headlight and my coil cover has began to Show
the years and the rough Florida air (...and the Chinese Drywall in this POS house we are in!).

I recently ordered a reworked 2003 Pitbull coil cover and stuck it in the mill and made it fit my Ridgeback. I bought it off ebay, someone has milled all the lettering off of it and repolished it. It looks much better in my opinion over the cookie cutter style that came on it, and being polished aluminum, no more chrome to go to hell.

I also ordered a New Headwinds 5-3/4" Vampire Concours Rocket Headlight in Polished, NOT CHROME!!!!

Headwinds has since changed the retainer ring and made it wider so that it is easier to screw in. This new bucket is much nicer than the BDM version as well in all aspects.

Still wrapped in the plastic while installing the NEW bucket:

With all the plastic off it:

...Well, I do not know what the next...chrome elimination will be but I may be
leaning towards a nice polished
Karata open primary. May need to get a new air cleaner too.

....Yes the wife about killed me a week ago...

...and YES, that is my living room !!!! It is much cooler inside! (...and less chinese drywall tested in the house than in the garage!)
