I bought the Big Dog one, but have never used it. It is a nice device. Whatever you buy, put a big flag on it so your don't forget to remove it.

4 big guys can have your bike up and loaded into the back of a pickup in less than 30 seconds. i use one but it is only so i can tell the insurance co. that "yes, it was locked up. what do you think i am, stupid?".

I use a regular disc lock that you can get any where. I also use a large "On Guard" chain.
I think what you should try to do is make it difficult for the thief. I put the disc lock on the back side of the disc or where it's hardest to reach instead of in front on the top within easy reach. And when with others we daisy chain the bikes together with the chains.
When at hotels I always ask where the video cameras are and if they won't let me park under the check in entry then I put it where the cameras are looking.
Wood is right about picking a bike up. When my clutch cable broke at Little Sturgis 4 of us picked it up and put it in the back of a pickup in just a few seconds.

if they want it bad enough they'll have it anyway

but anything is better than nothing - they might go and look for an easier target

Another round please
XENASECURITY.COM makes a disc lock that also has a built in loud alarm so if someone tries to roll it, it goes off.

got that on the Heritage and it is very loud - it won't fit on the dog though

i personally use the little red disc lock from big dog on the front and the back i have a plastic coated 1 inch thick onguard rope/chain lock,i didnt have nothin on my nitetrain in myrtle beach 5 years ago and when i came out from the harley dealer in broad daylite with 2 cops sittin on the benches on the porch after only being in there for 30 minutes it had dissapeared......so i at least now put the locks on the chop only to keep the theives honest, cause maybe they will pass mine on by and go to the next one..and if not i will upgrade and get a K9...................

I use the disc lock with a cable that I run through my bag and helmet...
The cable keeps my bag and helmet from walking away too easily (they would have to snip the cable first:job:)... and always reminds me to remove the lock...

I use two Big Dog disc locks ...on each wheel... If the bad guys want to take it they will find a way  ......I try to get a room with a view of my ride....
