Disconnecting battery

Happy New Year all!

I would like to disconnect the battery for shipping the bike overseas.
I figure the battery charge will stay good for awhile. Any precautions I should take and also will the charge maintain? Thanks all:up:

Depends on the battery condition. Fully charge the battery before shipping. Disconnect all wires and cover all positive and negative connections to the battery with something that will keep them from touching the battery terminals during shipping.

Thanks guys..I have the battery on a tender. Speaking of that, I would like to buy another one and have heard that there are better ones that the one big dog sold. You guys have any suggestions?

Better battery or better charger?
I have a Braille battery and it has lots of cca. You can search it here.
The battery tender Jr. Seems to be the charger of choise in my crowd.
