Digital Floating - Tachometer / Speedo

Psycho

Psycho
I experienced a first time issue yesterday morning on a breakfast ride to the Pioneer Saloon and am wondering if anyone else has had the pleasure to experience it first hand. Both the tachometer indicators and the numbers in the digital tachometer started to float. This wasn't movement as if the tachometer ring was loose with the indicators floating left and right or up and down together. The indicators floated independently with the larger digits in the tachometer floating as if they were in water. If it had been on a late night Friday or Saturday ride I would have just wrote it off as "Just having a good time" ..... (Ain't My Fault ... by Brothers Osborne). This points to some sort of an electrical issue, but before diving in head first thought I would ask our panel of experienced experts !!!

Take it up into the 4500-5000rpm range and it will look like that every time due to the vibration of the bike.
