Differences 2004 vs 2005 Bulldog

I'm really surprised at the lack of information online. I've found bits here and there but no reviews that have specific changes for that model year. I know the 2004 has a 107ci motor and the 2005 117 but other than that i'm having a difficult time nailing down any other changes. I'm looking at a 2005 that is fantastic very low miles, perfect shape with 4000miles but its $6,000 more than a 2004 I'm heading out to look at shortly which has 9000 miles.

Any input on the decision is greatly appreciated.

Wish I could help ya but not that familiar with the 04-05 Bulldogs. I know the frame was changed in 05.

not much difference and the extra 10" isn't worth the price difference. The key will be how they were maintained...5,000 miles ain't much of a difference on a properly maintained motor.

I didn't see much in comparing the owners manual for both years other than 10 MM more in the back tire. In US units that equates to 0.39 inches.:D

i have an 05 and my buddy has an 04...lots of changes...his has 107 motor, single tube swingarm blah forks and ok wheels...the 05 has 3d sculpted wheels...cool as shit...the inverted front end, 3d ends to match wheels, air ride suspension, and dual carrier swingarm, 250 rear tire, and the primary cover on 04 is very plain, im thinkin the 04 may be left hand drive, cant remember...

Nope - 2004 Bulldog was the ONLY RSD in the lineup that year -- and it has inverted forks as well. The 117 was only an option then --pretty far into the model year I hear.

also, don't assume the 117" is better than the 107". My understanding is that if anything it's the other way round. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong

I think it is an interesting topic for sure, possibly worthy of it's own thread.

I have a 2004 Pitbull, that I ordered. Stock at the time was 107". I paid, I wanna say $1500 extra & got a 117". It is ripe to say the least. I am under the impression that it is a bit different than the 117" that became "stock" the following year, & subsequent years. I have run side by side with some other (albeit newer) dogs that have a 117". Mine is definitely faster. I have done absolutely nothing to my motor. The only mods I made were pipes, & a wcc intake cover.

Thank you guys you're a huge help. really. I'm looking at a 2005 at the dealership and a 2004 private seller and, obviously, the dealership bike is significantly more expensive and the salesman told me they were completely different bikes. I haven't seen the 2004 in person, its about an hour and a half away so I'm just going off sketchy photos and its hard to tell. I am definitely going to make the drive to see it now though based on your info.

HUGE help. thank you.
