You may be able to purchase the retracted forward controls for your bike. I bought mine new from the dealer for around 250.00 for my K-9. Brings the pegs back about an inch.
Enjoy the bike and welcome.:hi::hi::hi:

How come if this intro is such a big deal it isn't simply part of the registration process? Seems to me you should have to write your intro and submit before you are allowed on the site. I'm just saying, it's always a topic and doesn't need to be.
I agree 100% as I think most of us do, this subject has been brought up to Tim & with all the new updates his doing I for 1 think this would be a good one it would sure cut out alot of BS :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:
:cheers:

That's a good lookin bike. If you have to tie blocks to your feet to reach the pegs you'll still look cool on that thing.

It's an 05
The bike is a 05, sawp out 08 bars for more pull back. 08 and later bars come back further. To far for me I'm 6'1" and would like the shorter bars or maybe the chopper bars.

From the pics looks like standard controls and are they Santee pipes?

Bike looks good git it and ride it !

Welcome V.

You're not screwed ... I'm barely 5'7' and I did have a problem with my feet slipping off the foot pegs until I installed some Kyraakin (sorry spelling bad) switchblade pegs. It will bring the foot pegs back about 1 1/2 inches back. Haven't slipped yet. Do a search on either the Kyriyakin pegs (again sorry for the spelling) or search for "surferdude" I did a thread on them. The pegs cost about $165 with the adapters.
You'll be smiling big time with that Ridgeback. Ride Safe :D :up: :)

I've got an 04 Ridgeback and am 5'7". I reached everything with the stock seat but went ahead and bought one of the push seats. Much more comfortable ride now.

Servicing Records

Did they give you any service records or contact info for the previous owner? If not, I'd take it in and have all the fluids changed so you have an accurate idea how old they are. You don't want to end up running dry, or running old contaminated fluids through the motor, tranny, and primary...assume nothing if you can't verify it on paperwork that is signed by a mechanic. Also, make sure all BDM recalls and service bulletins are completed. And how are the tires...300/330's normally only make it 3500 - 5000k depending on road conditions. Esp. on a rigided frame.

Looked at the dealer pics...I agree that may be a Push Seat on it now..looks pretty thick in the back, and thats where the "push" comes from, they thickened the rear portion of the foam so your backside does not slide back.
