Did He Live?

This is horrible but as I look at this I realized if he was sitting to the right side of the car in front of him the car might have just missed him. How does one decide as a rider when at a red light which side to wait? I hope that driver that rear ended him gets life if it was not a medical emergency.
God Bless him and his family.

Damn, thats horrible. I bet the person who hit him was texting or something stupid. Or who knows a jealous ex gf who was nuts. But either way it was senseless and a horrible way to go.

This is the one fear I have, getting rear ended at a traffic light. After seeing this I'm going to be more vigilant anytime I'm stopped.
Having been rear-ended at a red light, I know the fear -- I got lucky, I walked away with a bruised knee and trashed K-9. Now, who doesn't see the RED traffic light, the fat tire motorcycle and my fat ass sitting on a K-9. Damn bitch never hit the brakes! What saved me was when she hit, the bike fell to the right and then she rode right up my back wheel to the point both her front wheels of the camry where off the ground. Snapped the rear fender off, folded the 2-up seat basically in half and trapped me with my knee stuck between tank and handlebars.

Sitting at red lights afterwards was a bit worrysome but I've calmed since then. I'm old if its going to happen its going to happen, while I do my part to make sure it doesn't I dont let the possibility stop me.

Live fast -- leave a beautiful corpse. -- I must have mis-read that early in life as Live fat and I know the second part isn't happening!

Accident occurred 3 years ago - here is what the guy said happened....

Oh yea think just about all the bones in my left foot, degloved heel, partial separation of the foot, some piece of metal stabbed in my shin down through foot and back out, another piece of metal through left knee cap that fractured the top of tibia and came back out, the three lower vertebra in spine, 3-4 ribs left side, punctured left lung, lacerated spleen with internal bleeding, chipped some teeth, loosened lower fronts, stage 3 concussion and glass/fiberglass all through front core that I still TO DATE have coming out.

Dingo, I am confused, you mentioned above about an accident, is this the same guy in the above video? If so that would be amazing.

Horrible accident. In CA you can share lanes so I always get beside other stopped cars for protection at lights. It's not legal in other states but I do it anyway and when I get stopped I just dumb it up..."it's legal where I live" so far I've been lucky and no tickets....

if you focus on a reflection at the upper right roof area of the offending vehicle you'll notice what looks like flashing lights. My guess he was running from the cops.

I did not watch the video, but I constantly watch my mirror until the next car stops behind me. As the car approaches I flash my brake lights and watch to make sure they're slowing down.

ALWAYS ride in the left track unless conditions won't allow you to. Drivers in cars are on the left side of the vehicle, so that puts you in their line of sight.
