Developed a bad shudder....

It appears that I have developed a problem. It started about 50 miles ago when I began to notice a vibration on decel. I could accelerate and it would disappear, but it became worse as time went by. At first I thought it was because the rear tire was cold and had a "flat" spot from sitting and it would kinda go away when it warmed up abit from riding. On the way home from work today, it got real bad and I thought maybe I had a broken clutch basket. When I got home, I put it on the lift, raised the tires off the ground and cranked er' up. In first gear with no throttle, everything was fine for a few moments, then this horrible shudder started. The whole bike would shake, then it would go away, then it would start again, then disappear again. WTF?
I checked the rear tire/wheel and final belt, found no problems, every tight. Then I pulled the outter primary cover expecting to find chain, basket or front sprocket problems. Nothing. Everything tight. No metal or shavings in the fluid. What's next? Tranny? Anybody experenced this? I have not disassembled the clutch yet, nor have I looked into the trans yet. Hopeing someone will stear me in the right direction....

check your top motor mount
For sure do as Hoat said........Mine just came loose Saturday on a country cruise. Didn't have any tools with me so I just put my finger on the Allen head to keep it from loosening up more. I would of been hosed if the EFI cover side had fell off going down the road. Would rev it up so I could screw it in some. Talk about having one big ass cramp in my hand when I stopped at a friends house...

Coming back from Kali this summer my scoot developed a "wandering" (quickly darting one way or the other) tendency that was there for the time thru N Cal, Oregon and up to the house. It was also there for a ride to work, it came and went. Then it disappeared and has not returned. I was white knuckeling it there for a few days. Never did discover what it was, but will say it made riding above 85mph very interesting.

Good luck on tracking down this issue and let us know what you discover it was causing this shudder.

See ya
