Detonation and Back-firing

Hello, My bike just started detonating when i ecellerate and back-firing on decell. and on idel its idling fast when warm. about 1200 rpm. does anybody know what could be causing this problem?:bang: It was running fine but now it runs like this all the time. Thanks for you help.:flag:

Completely just guessing here but possible intake manifold leak?

That is a good question and I would wait for a more professional answer than what I have done in the past which is:

1 - With bike off grab carb and push gently up and down and see if it's loose.

2 - Tighten all bolts on intake manifold band clamps, start bike and observe results.

3 - Spray carb cleaner, starter fluid, etc onto edges of intake manifold band clamps gently and carefully while bike is idling to see if there are any changes in rpm. If so, leak, but be careful with flammable spray fluids for mess and possible explosions.

I would try 1 & 2 but not 3 until you get some other responses.

You may want to check the vacum port on the carb or the Manifold. I found my cap blown apart and bike was running but now as smooth as usual. This is what mine looks like

Thanks, I been racking my brain on the internet trying to find out what those nipples, i mean caps......... are. because one of them must of blow off. were do you find these nipples. or can you just plug em with anything?

should have them at any auto parts store .

Get the caps at Autozone or auto parts store and get zip ties. Put the cap on and zip tie them. They come is different sizes just like nipples:roll::roll::roll:

You may want to call them vacuum caps when you get to the parts store, they are cheap and usually come in an assortment of sizes.

THIRD NIPPLE LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD BE PRETTY EASY TO FOOT FEED THE PUPS!!
WOULDN'T LOSE TOO MUCH SLEEP, COULD FEED AND NAP AT SAME TIME.
