Deal or no deal

There is an 03 chopper for sale near me with close to 10k on the odometer. They are asking $10,000. Do you all think this is priced high? Maybe I should ask what should this be going for? I looked it up on NADA and it was $8200-$10500. Thanks in advance to all who chime in.

If there are 15 responses to this post you will get 15 answers. If the bike looks to be in good shape and well maintained...then the price is pretty close. If the bike looks like it has been rode hard and put away wet...price is horrible. I would start at $8500 or $9000 and haggle it out a little. IMO, '03's are cool because there are a lot of parts interchangeable with standard Harley parts.

Kelly blue book it and NADA. That will give you some guidelines. Then make your best lowball price and see what they bite on. Good luck

original owner ? I think the 03's were a great year ...is this a cash purchase or are you going to finance ?

Have not asked about if this is a one owner bike or if it has had more than one. To me it looks like it is in good condition but I am new to motorcycles. I will try to post a picture of it if that would make a difference. This will be a cash purchase.

Hmmm ORANGE :D It looks like a purdy scoot. If you have cash in hand, I think you'll be able to haggle them down some. Ask me how I know??? :D

Forgot to mention that this bike in on consignment at a BD dealer. Do you think this helps or hurts my negotiating? I figure the owner has told them him rock bottom price and they are handling the negotiating and the deal and taking their cut. Also being new to motorcycles should I worry about it being a used bike at a dealer like a car from a used car lot? Just trying to cover all the areas I can think of and ask you guys(the experts). Thanks again.

Local dealer in Northern Va. Had a 04 Ridgeback with I think around 7000 miles. It was on consignment the price listed was $9900 and it sold. Dealer usually tries to get 10% some may do it for 5%. Chopper was a higher priced bike than the Ridgeback due to the Chopper haveing a rear suspension. Buy it already.

It's always good to get it with the good add ons. Save a bundle.....

Struts + Pad/Plate + Bar will run you $800-$1k not to mention they are HARD to find.. so yea I think 10k is probably worth it if she runs good.
