Hey Ed! Rocky and I enjoyed meeting you in Gulfport a few weeks back. Hate to hear about this dead beat. It sucks when you have to get an attorney involved in anything but sometimes that your only and last resort. Good luck!

A thief is a thief....doesn't matter if its a dollar or a thousand...he got me for a gas cap and I can assure you that you will never get your money from him...he is not a man of his word and he will be held accountable in the end...

can you file a lien on his bike? I'd think a mechanics lien would get anyone's attention as they could never sell the bike until the lien was paid off. Their insurance company would have to note you as the lien holder as well and pay you FIRST if there ever was a claim...I'm assuming he's in a different state but I'd think that'd be fairly simple to do. If it's some paperwork I'm sure anyone here would be happy to march it down to the courthouse for you! I would...heck I'd go see him if he's in WA state :D

Haven't read all the threads so don't know what's been stated, but it would be nice to have this guy set up some kind of payment plan to get you paid back with a reasonable amount of interest, late fees, etc. added on to the bill. If he's a man, he'll make it happen some how, some way, even if it means selling his bike to do it. With this economy it's tough out there for a lot of people. This guy's situation we're not privy to, but it seems like he may have gotten into financial trouble subsequent to having you start the job. Regardless, the dude needs to buck up and compensate you some way. Regarding the whole "thief" thing, he's only a thief if he intentionally planned on doing this to you, in the same way that a homeowner who defaults on his mortgage is not a thief if he doesn't pay his mortgage. It's a damn shame a lawyer needs to be involved as this will only delay the whole process and cost everyone MORE money. Completely understand your frustration as I've had the same thing happen to me with clients I do work for. I just called them on a daily basis and let them know they owed me - soon they got sick of hearing from me and paid me back, some in a lump sum, some with a payment plan.
Best of luck, sir, your work is impressive indeed. Keep up the good fight.

Only premeditated thievery qualifies one as a thief? What about spontaneous, opportunistic, or in this gentleman's supposed case, hereditary thievery. He was allegedly ripped off by his customer so he passed it on to Ed. Theft of services rendered requires a thief. I'm glad all of your clients eventually paid you back due to your daily harassment but if they hadn't I believe you, like Ed, would consider them to be thieves.

Personally I wish we weren't even discussing a situation like this. I hope he finds a way, somehow, to make payment or restitution in some manner for the work that Ed did for him. Good Luck!

Where does this guy live? Let's send one of the forums 'extra-curricular' members to his house with an envelope with Ed's address on it. Hand it to him and say "Ed wanted me to bring this by. I took the liberty of addressing it and putting a stamp on it for you. I'll trust it to be in the mail by the end of the week. I'll also trust you don't want us coming back to see if you forgot how to find your mailbox."

If I remeber correctly, Ed said the scumbag has sold the bike already.

He's got a big bear, and an hd. Bike I did wasn't his, but one of his buddies'. But he was the middle man. He'd never let me talk directly to the owner. He played that "I'll get you all this work from my club" card. "You never seen a set like us" and "you'll be turning work away". He said he had all these good clients he was gonna hook me up... but you gotta give me a good deal on my bike...
I saw all the signs as they were unfolding. He played me.
But I can at least warn others not to do business with him.

Ed...Take my advice....

You are too talented and you deliver...Make the customer pay up front and dont ship anything to them unless its paid in full...When we did business, I felt comfortable because you deliver...He probably had all intentions of paying but his money ran out...no excuse...

Nope. He ignores me completely. Im just tired of dealing with it. Chalk it up to experience I guess. This did teach me that my generosity can bite me in the ass if Im not careful. I'll adjust my policies accordingly. Thank you all for your help, but Ive written it off. I'll never get it.
So if anyone's in atlanta and feeling frisky, look up our friend Boydog!

Damn Shame. Some of us old timers can remember when a "hand shake" was you HONOR. Just don't let this one deadbeat, make you loose all trust in man kind. I always believe that Good will ALWAYS trump evil. If not, we are all in a world of shit.

I hope you eventually get this turkey to pay up, I've been bit like that before myself!

I do have a question for you airbrush-ed and anyone else who has two cents to offer.

I just got my new dash in for my pit bull and I haven't had anything painted before and I don't want to get ripped off... so I'm wondering what would be a good price range to have it matched painted to my old one? No graphics, just straight paint.

Looking forward to retirement
Just curious, did you ever contact Iron Bred MC about the problem. The site and contact information is in this thread. MC's usually take care of business with members who are trashing there name. As in paying off a dept for them and taking payment out of the member. just google iron bred MC and click on contacts.
