Need help from some of the gurus on here o5 ridgeback original EHC I ran the tank out of fuel completely ..after refueling bike idles and revs in neutral fine drop it into gear give it some throttle and bike will die I pulled the carb off cleaned everything in the carb. drained the tank fresh fuel. any ideas.. bike ran fine until I ran out of fuel I did find some garbage in the bowl and the tank but all fresh fuel now..

Did you check the petcock and see if it clogged? If you take the hose off the carb and let it drain, does it have good flow?. But if it dogs out when you hit the throttle check all your carb settings. Did you do a full rebuild or just clean it? Check the accelerator pump diaphragm/settings. There is a Youtube on adjusting/setup the S&S carb.

Are you saying bike will rev up fine in neutral? Can you hold 1/4 throttle for awhile?

Shit..i did the starter change last week got the wire coming from the crank sensor got into the drive pulley..

So when I would drop it in gear and go to take off a tooth from the drive pulley would hit that wire shorting out the crank sensor

That doesnt have anything to do with running out of gas..haha oops.

That wiring that runs along the frame and up into the battery tray needs to be clean as hell with well thought out with zip ties. I've seen it many times now. Never seen a drive pulley issue but I've had oil lines frayed and then that takes out wiring, brake lines and clutch cable coatings.
