I need help!! I have a 2008 EFI Mastiff with a new (in 2013) S&S VFI module. Never right since install it would lose tune constantly. The shop working on it for the last 5 months is giving up on it. They burned up the clutch on the dyno trying to get it to run right. I'm in Mansfield, Ohio 1hr from Cleveland, Columbus, or Akron. Is there anyone in Ohio that can tune this thing?

Go to the main forum page and scroll down to Dealerships. There is a post that says Southern Ohio repair shop. I met this guy when I was going to school in Logan Ohio. He claims to have been a Big Dog service center when he was out west. Call him and talk to him. He seemed like a decent guy. Again I only met him once so I am only suggesting him not really a recommendation. Let me know how you make out. Good luck.

There is also a guy up here in Kent Ohio. I would have to find his number.

Got a good guy in Cincy if you get that desperate-let me know if you need his name. And, just wondering- who the HELL works on a mechanical problem for 5 months, can't figure it out, gives up, and has the nerve to call himself a professional? DAMN.

don't know if Mick (McGroom) would work on it or not, but he is located in C'bus and would be able to point you in a direction that would get something done. just give him a pm and see if he will get back to you, it's been a while since his has really been active here, but he is a really good guy.

Jeff Parker at Parker's Precision Cycles, 513-321-1085. He's just a one man independent shop, but does a lot of the Dog and AIH service around here. The place isn't pretty but it doesn't have to be, he's slammed with work but will take care of you, and always does it right the first time. Tell him Mark with the '04 Mastiff sent you.

Thanks for all your help! I found Canton Cycle Specialties in Canton, Ohio. Russ was one of the first factory trained Big Dog mechanics in Ohio. They are also a big S&S dealer so my confidence is high on this shop. It goes to in on Monday so I will keep everyone posted.

Curious... what do you mean here? What shop? I'm thinking others members may want to avoid them...

Hi Dennis,
Bike would run good and strong for 2/3 months(700/900 miles) then start hesitating, running a little rough. I would do the trick with the key to reset it and it 's fine for another 2/3 months. Beginning of every season back on the dyno for complete tune. As far as the shop goes..more my fault as they were never a Big Dog dealer but the owner had 3/4 Big Dogs personally and I assumed they knew how to repair them.

How far are your oxygen sensors away from the exhaust port in inchs. If to far away the pipes might be sucking a little air in them causing the s@s module to try and over compensate causing the bike to run like crap!!!
