DEAD COYOTE

Ok. I messed up big time. Rookie mistake. I had to jump start the bike and crossed the wires (lol, F#@$% stupid). Anyway, I replaced the battery and the bike is dead. Doesn't do anything. So, if anybody wants to help and insult me at the same time I would appreciate it a lot. Please..... :bang:

Check to see if the circuit breaker or fuse is blown and make sure you connected all the wires to the battery. I've seen people miss a wire or two when replacing the battery

:iagree:

Assuming the '09 is wired like the rest of the Dogs, the only thing the big 40A fuse does is protect the EHC/wiring from the VR. So, if the fuse is blown and there's juice in the battery, lights should light and the bike should start (or at least turn over)...

The only fuse between the battery and the EHC is a self-resetting type INSIDE the EHC.

Hopefully the penultimate fuse/breaker.

Like Dennis already said, the only thing the Circuit breaker/Maxi fuse protects is the charging system. Not the EHC. The EHC has internal protection, but from what a lot of people are finding, it does not always protect like it's suppose to.
Might have to pull the EHC and send to Curtis for testing.

The circuit breaker looks good. I can't tell if is bad. I'm going to replace it just to take care of the cheap end of the issue. I'll keep you all posted. I'm so pissed about this.

Don't need to replace it to verify it. Just check for continuity across the terminals.

Again this would not prevent it from powering up anyway.
This would only break continuity between the VR and bat.
