I installed a Daytona Twintec ignition on my 2003 AIH Texas Chopper with an S&S 107. The ignition has been FANTASTIC for the last 6 months. All of a sudden about a week ago on the way to Biketoberfest I noticed it was breaking up a little. Yesterday it ran fine for about 10 min then started breaking up, bogging and backfiring through the exhaust. Today same thing after about 5 min, except today it died and would not restart. I pushed that bitch a mile and a half home.
Anyway it seems they have a pretty common problem with heat related malfunctions as described on their website. I installed the whole American Ironhorse kit, Voes, mini coils, and ignition module. The mini coils are 3 ohm coils. I am getting fuel ok and a weak orange spark on both cylinders but it won't fire. I haven't messed with the timing its all still what it has been the last 6 months. I checked the coils and they are both at 4.1 ohms. I am thinking the problems may be the coils, I just find it hard to believe they both went bad at the same time. Any help is appreciated.
