Daytona Big Dog ?

I was @ a local BDM dealer this week-end and I asked them when they were heading to Daytona (They usually have a large display). They told me they could not go this year ?

I asked them if it was the economy or other and they advised the Daytona dealer (C.S.S.) basically had a "No Compete" clause in their contract with BDM.

I've seen in other posts that the BDM factory truck will be there & I have nothing against C.S.S. (will be stopping by), but personally I'd like to have as many BDM dealers in the area as possible.

Anyone heard of any other dealers setting up on the outskirts ?

Why is it that there seems to be a Problem w/ css and Bdm setting up at his location or around him? This isn't the first time.

That location is what caused Daytona Harley owner Bruce Rossmeyer to end up moving out of town....RIP Bruce. They want way to much money to rent that little park....

Relic, same reason Carls Speed Shop (CSS) wouldn't allow me to pull in my motorhome there for a couple of hours and give us Big Dogs going on a ride free hot dogs and hamburgers.....GREED!

Like I said in the initial post, I have nothing against CSS (will be stopping by to look around).

My oppinion is, it would be better for the company (BDM) to have as many dealers as possible in the area to increase sales and interest (Bike week only). This looks like a poor business move on BDM's part (If this is true). Hopefully, some other dealer will set up in Orlando or New Symrna.

Carl's protects his territory and BDM honors his deal. That didn't stop a poacher with a load of bikes from setting up across from the Iron Horse...apparently Carl's deal only applies to sales of new bikes. So, the poacher sold a bunch of bikes with a few breakin/test miles on them as "used." Pam and Kim on this forum both got bikes.
I thought it was a pretty clever way to screw with Carl's and sell some bikes. Smelled like litigation to me.

I think that The Haus of Trikes and Bikes here in Fort Myers, and also a BDM dealer, is looking to set up in Daytona somewhere this year as well.

Although, they may only be selling "Used" Big Dogs that are like new and carry a factory warranty!!!

cycle city from kingsport tennessee also says that they are not going because of carls also
