Anyone have any experience with DaVinci carbs? I was at my local bike shop and he had a new chrome display model for sale. He was asking $850 for it. Not sure if this is a good price or not, as I was told the company went out of business.
I am leaning towards the XXX carb as that seems to be the carb most use around here, but thought I would ask about the DaVinci.
Thanks in advance

DaVinci is definitely NOT out of business. He's an awesome guy to talk to on the phone, and doesn't rush you off like you're a chump.
As for the price you asked about, you can buy a BRAND NEW DaVinci carb for $650 directly from him. They only come in chrome, so what your shop has is what anyone can buy for $200 cheaper, brand new from the source.
On that note, you sometimes can find one locally for MUCH cheaper. I actually sent my stock Super G to DaVinci last Friday for him to freshen up, add the booster kit, and overall check out. Total quoted, including $150 booster kit was only $250 + return shipping. which is awesome when you have the guy who taught XXX guys how to make these carbs work right.
In the meantime, while my carb is in Texas I actually found a chrome DaVinci carb on Craigslist almost by accident, looks like it's never been used, for $300..
I guess when mine comes back from DaVinci, it'll be up for sale to cover the cost of the one I just got...:2thumbs:
P.S. I didn't join to try to sell anything. I actually found this thread while Googling Davinci carbs to get his phone number...just so happens Big Dog's use alot of the same parts I do on my bike, and since I have very recent dealings with Dan DaVinci, I figured why not share.
