The numbers are just a combination of straight lines and shouldn't look wavey. It could just be the combination of vibration, quick accelleration and human eyesight. As a dealer I would be interested in what other Dakota owners think about this.

ha, ha...wavy...yes, those are your eyeballs shaking in your head. The phenomena is more noticable with the big lighted digital numbers. You'll notice you don't have the issue sitting still on the driveway, standing next to the bike and revving it.

OK, the way the gage mounts contributes as well.

There's nothing to fix.

Mines good. Only thing I found out from having the Dakota is, I now need a battery tender. Other than that 2 thumbs up.

It's normal when accelerating. I notice it all the time when I accelerate hard and it is worse when you hit that resonant frequency what ever the update rate is. Take a look at one of Raywood's video and you will also see it when he accelerates. In fact, I believe it is hard to make out his speed because of the frame speed of the camera.

Received my new dakota digital speedo the other day from Value Teck. The install and set up was a breeze. Very pleased with the whole experience.

Try taking the speedo sensor out on top of the transmission and wipe it off.
Its only 1 bolt to take it off.

Cheers
