bdmridgeback, American Ironhorse used Thunder Heart for there speedo's not Dakota Digital. I switched to a 6000 series Dakota Digital with Wild One bars and Joker Machine controls and have had no trouble with the Dakota Digital speedo unlike 3 original Ironhorse.

Have you had trouble with the guages on your Street Glide? I would guess changing all the gauges on your Glide was an expensive proposition.

Mutters under his breath $1.2k.

It seems smaller stating it that way.

I thought it was the last part to finish out my bike, I was wrong!

OK.

Don't reset the trip meter before restarting the bike. It will freak the trip meter.

The temp gauge will drift in ambient heat of over 100 degrees and 230 degrees of oil temp.

If you have a race tuner you have to unplug the gauges to program the ECM.

One time the odometer went nuts and added 113k miles to my bike.

The clock will reset at the drop of a hat.

Every now and then the auto dim will freak and go full light at night. It is fucking bright! Enough for me to have trouble seeing past.

Now the good...........

They look bad ass!!!!!!

Easier to read.

They look bad ass!!!!!!

Programable warning for over value - flashes gauge.

They look bad ass!!!!!!

It has a gear indicator.

They look bad ass!!!!!!

Easy to pinpoint ranges since you can say it was turning 2620 RPM at 70 MPH and so on.

They look bad ass!!!!!!

Ok the one for a BigDog don't have a temp gauge, race turner, clock, so I guess if it messes up I would at least have more than a 30 day warranty (2 yrs.)

$300 pricey? I don't know about everyone else on the forum, but I have over 40G's in my bike and I would like to have a speedo gauge that WORKS. If it cost 500 I would probably get it anyway if it WORKS. I put this on here for other people, if they would like to have a look at it. Not for the HATERS to get on here and complain about something else :whoop::willy_nilly::rant2::panic2::cursin::urowned::chillpill::zz2cents:

It's funny, compared to everything else for these bikes, when I saw the price, I thought it was fairly cheap.

Go wash it! That will be the test! Better wash it while it is under warranty...

...But then again, the warranty probably doesn't cover water damage!

It will always work great as long as it doesn't get wet!:D

bdmridgeback, why would we want to wash it all I've heard on this site is not to wash your dog with water so why wash this one. I've changed 4 autometers on mine and they have never been wet.Water is not the problem with the autometer speedo its poor workmanship I think on autometer side of the court. And thats my apinion.

I am going to ride the K9 to Sturgis in a couple of weeks. Will let you know it performs after 1,000 miles. I will also be at the lunch on Tuesday as well.

All autometer motorcycle speedo should be water resistant. Their auto line is not, but the bikes should. What is the difference if you wash it, or get caught in a down pour. I didn't say power wash it, I'd never power wash my bike, but you should be able to wash it just like a stock Harley, Honda or any other bike!

I still have the original white face speedo on my 2005 and I wash it with water and it has never fogged on me.

Guess I got a good one.
