Hi, I've noticed that my base gasket on the front cylinder on the right side sticks out just a little, it's been like this since I bought it. is this normal for a 2005 ridge back? Also is it easy to re-torqe the head bolts on this front jug? it looks like i see oil residue around the base of the jug where it meets the case. thanks for any info....

Mine was like that on my 05 Ridgeback. They told me nothing to worry about. Mine got changed when they did the head job on it. BDM said take a new razor blade and trim off the excess so it is not noticable.

might be easier if you heat the razor blade first - I think Sul did this on his intake seals

MY 2-CENTS Looking at the base gasket pic i would be concerned! Both machine surface have to be equal if not it will push gasket out.Not saying tear into it but keep a close eye on it.Could of been batch of over hanging gaskets too.:job: 05chop

The gasket is supposed to be flush with the cylinder, if it's starting to stick out you are about to blow your base gasket and your gonna have a serious oil leak if you let it go and eventually the gasket will just blow completely out

YEP Changing the gasket is not the only thing to do.You have to lap the base of the cylinder to get it trued. 05chop
