Custom sissybar

Well I decided to have a local metal worker (flint michigan) make a sissybar for me after seeing some of his work on club chopper. He is cyclepartsmania and he does some great work. All I need now is to find a good chromer.

That turned out good man. I wonder where his shop is in Flint? I'll be up there this weekend...

Crown Plating is a company I see driving around all the time. And there is another plating place on ecorse or vanborn near I-275. That's all that comes off the top of my head.

Yeah that would be nice but then they would have to pay me for my ideas. Why do that when they can just visit us on our websites and steal them for free.

That's an awesome sissy bar. Are the dog bones made by hand too?

Yep he used solid 1 inch bar stock. turned down the bottom section, and the shaped the bones using the old blacksmith method. He drives an old shovelhead and all his components on his bike are "twisted steel"

great looking bar!!!!! browns plating in paduka ky is a great place to have stuff chromed.....they have been plating since the 60's i believe. have had a lot of stuff done by them and no one can do it better!!

Yeah thats where it went (to browns). Called a couple big chromers and they wouldn't even talk to me unless I was a dealer. Talked to Ronnie Brown and seems like a good guy. Says there running at about 5 to 10 day turnaround.

Hey Al,

There's a place in TN called Chromemasters, I saw there work at Myrtle Beach
and it looked pretty good of course it was on a show bike and not a everyday customers. Just another option if you want to check them out.....

Looks good Al...

Sounds like youi got the chroming under control, if you do have any problems, my sister is a chemist that works for a company that sells the materials and processes for chroming, and could recommend a place.
