Custom Sissybar In The Works

Well, It is in the works now that I got my struts put on. Thanks to BBChopper aka, "Pablo" or Paul, It should be rollin out soon.

Paul makes some nice looking bars but wants to get more into the "One Off" Sissybars. He actually made a jig and sent it across the state of Florida to me so I could set the angle and height that I want & I could see it on my bike. I am in the works of drawing up some flame designs that match my bike without being too close to Gas's design. :D

Here is the jig he made:

And here is a blurry close up of the jig slid in the strut:

This jig is made only for the Ridgeback and Pitbull because the bar slides in from the rear do to the shortened fender.

Here is the jig on the bike and set to what I think is a good look and a functional position if I decide to have a removable pad made to put on it.

Thanks BBChopper!!!

Hey gas, just wanted to let you know I am not planning on copying your design but it is very hard to come up with a design when you have the same graphics I do and a flame design is cool. I am drawing my ass off working on some ideas.

The phone I just got for the wife and I both, was the new iPhone killer from Sprint, the HTC Touch. Has a 2.0 MP camera in it, 400mhz processor so the high speed internet runs awesome. I can even get on the forum here and post from it!!! GPS, Weather, Windows Mobile 6 Op system. List goes on & on.

I'll be updating here when I come up with some ideas. Let me know if there were any drawings you did that you didn't use that were cool. It might rattle some other ideas loose in my heads if I see them.

Check my custom sissy bar thread... there was some sketches in there.

Thanks for the consideration.

And yeah, some of the newer phones aren't just phones anymore...

The bottom one is my favorite. I am going to redraw that one and thin it out a bit so it isn't as wide.
I'll be posting my other ideas soon.
Let me know what you think of these so far.

Well, there ya go - just shows everyone can have different preferences. I really like the top one, because the side flames are so distinctive - but I do agree that the center part could be narrowed considerably at the bottom, so the center looks more like a flame and less like a triangle.

The point (no pun intended, or maybe so) of the spike in the middle is to go along with the style of my spiked goods and to match the design of the wheels and such. I wanted to tie the spikes in a bit more with the flames.

I'll work those drawings a bit and post up some better ones tonight

I like em both... I totally got what you were going for with the top one Jake.

What are you going to make them out of? Going to CNC them? Stamp? or what?

BBChopper down here in FLA. is bending and welding it up for me out of round stock. I have not decided yet wether to chrome it or send it to BDM and have it powdercoated to match the paint. I have always liked the look of the sissybars powdercoated because you don't see very many, but one can never have enough chrome!!!

Well if you powdercoat them it won't need as much touching up work, the powder will cover any imperfections. If its chrome it needs to look very smooth.
