Just want to see some BDM factory Custom graphics tanks. I have seen my paint scheme on the BD site but I would like to see some pix.
Also...How are graphics done, stencil or hand air-brush or both? Thanks...

Here from Chicago way.

Here is the one that Ed designed for Big Dog

Kustom Paint By Ed

It appears a bit more detailed so yours maybe be a copy done by one of the other artists.

Ed was the top painter at Big Dog and yes, he chose to not use stencils but the paint dept. would use a little of both.

Maybe he will chime in to answer some questions for you.

Alot of mass produced "custom paint jobs" are done with a super thin vinyl wrap. Alot of the Dogs have them done this way. It's the only way they can pump them out being all identical. They put the scheme down and then an airbrush guy comes in and dabs in some details, like little white spots on edges that need to be highlighted. and that makes the optical illusion that the whole job is done by hand. You can tell when something is truely custom, because it won't be duplicated exactly .

I'm a calling bullshit! You don't know what the hell you're talking about "B"! They tried a water transfer system on one of their schemes. Called a Switchblade. It did look like pixelated shit. And some of the later jobs (when the bean counters started to gain more control) that incorporated gold or silver leaf work, were done with a vinyl clone. But that was it. Aside from that, Everything was hand done! Period.

That shit pisses me off.
I can't even airbrush right now. Guess I'll go get some lunch. Maybe I'll make my food, by hand.
