Cruise-Mate

I was at R&B Cycle a couple weeks ago and they had one of them Baggers down there with a Cruise-Mate on it. When you set it it took a 1/2 turn to set it and it still did not lock the throttle up very good. Is this the best that they work.I thought they were a 1/4 turn lock.

They ratchet just like the wrench. You pull it down and back it up and it will provide more tension. You set it to where you like it. Works great.

The Cruise-Mate website has a vid on how it's adjusted.

Like Ray said -- been riding with one on both bikes for more than a year now. I've got mine set for nearly a half turn to tight and had not problems.

Though I did over-tighten the one on the Dog going down the road last year and it snapped -- Tom at Cruise-mate shipped me out another stem at zero cost! Great addition especially for warming up the bike in the morning (not so much for the HD with the TC88 since it don't need it).

Great product for sure !!

I have been involved installing 4 of them so far.....1 on my K9 and 3 on harleys.....mine and 2 of the harleys worked great the first shot with 1/4 turn....the last harley seemed to require about 1/2 turn to engage and fully disengage but he was in a rush to leave for home and said he was going to use it a bit and see if he could dial it in.....I'll shoot him an email and see what happened.

I installed one on my ridgeback. It's the best thing since sliced bread. Like everyone here says they are easily adjusted. Once you install one you'll understand the full working capability of this device. I've ridden v-twins since 1980 and I am quite surprised at how long we've been dealing with that dumb knob that takes two hands to operate. When you see the simplicity of the design in regards to the working components of this device and the quality of the work to manufacter it, you will be amazed at how easy it is but also how long we've done without it.
I am about to re-build my 81 superglide. As of yet I am not sure which configuration I will put it back as but I can tell you one thing for sure...it Will have a cruise mate installed.

...especially if your throttle hand occasionally falls asleep. I love mine.
