Cruise Mate question vibrating when off

Hello,
I just sent Tom a message, but I thought I would try the tech. board to get a quick answer, if Tom is not around.
I am heading to the Laughlin River Run next week. And I don't have a lot of time to make sure this is right. So here I go.

Everything is tight, as far as screwing goes. So it's not going to fall off.
But when the cruise mate is in the off position (facing the rear of the bike), the knob is really loose, and it seems like it is going to vibrate and bounce all over against my cables.

When the knob is forward, it's good and snug, and I'm sure there will be no vibration there.

I haven't had a chance to ride it yet (I started late). I haven't really adjusted the knob, and it appears to work the way it's suppost to. But is there a way to adjust the knob, and make it tighter and not vibrate when the cruise is not in use??? If I can fix this, which way do I adjust the knob?
thanks
Cary

you do have the spring installed correctly, don't you? if you do, pull down on the handle and rotate forward a notch at a time until it is "snugish" and takes about a 1/4 turn to tighten. other than that, mine doesn't vibrate.

That's my guess too. Make sure the spring is installed under the cruise mate handle.

I put the spring between the screw and the handle. That is probably the problem. It was late last night. Probably not enough beer in me. I will go out and read the instructions and go OH!, what was I doing.:bang:
Thanks

I already got a message from Tom to give him a call for asst....... That guy is on the ball. :flag:

God dang. Maybe it does go thr. U'd think I'd remeber being I just put one in last weekend.

Come to think of it. It wud hv to go between screw and handle. Cause u pull it down and it springs back.

Disregard my crazy this morning.

However, problem still exists. U did use the loctite when I spun it in correct?

I got her figured out. I talked to Tom on the phone. After talking to him and adjusting it, it doesn't seem as bad as it was. Still a little looser then I thought it would be. I road the bike to the gym and I doesn't appear to be vibrating.
Tom said, they have a guy at the Laughlin rally so I will let him look at it, just to make sure, but I think it's good.
Thanks for the help
