Yesterday while installing Cruise-Mate for KFD I ran into a problem I haven't had before.
While re-assembling switch housing the wire with the shrink wrap around it had a tendency to find it's way out of rear half of housing and get trapped between housing and the handlebar. This will cause two problems is not corrected; 1. wires will get pinched and if left like that will eventually break due to vibration. 2. switch housing halfs will not mate correctly.
When re-assembled, there should be no gap between the front and rear half of the housings. If there is, take apart and ensure wires are tucked in before re-assembling.
The way I overcame this is somewhat complicated to put into words, however, will develop a simple to follow procedure and include pics in future installation instructions. Anyone having this problem should call me for procedure to avoid. 877.NICE RACK (642.3722)
