Crashed Monday, how to deal with the adjuster?

The adjuster for my ins co called me today all in a huff claiming that they do not know enough about "custom" bikes to accurately estimate it. They insisted that I put it into a shop and have the shop give them an estimate. This actually works out better for me, as I have a few close friends who have custom shops. I will have them write the estimate, so worst case my own insurance will cover it. The kid's insurance is Liberty Mutual and so far they are a pain in the ass. They called me back today, with 100 questions on what happened, and it's the 3rd time I explained to them. Pretty fucking simple, dumbass made a right turn from the left lane. He was sitting with his seat reclined so far back he couldn't even see his mirrors. Cop saw the accident, and issued him a ticket. Where is the confusion? Anyway, I am trying to get his ins to pay everything so I don't have to float my 1k deductible, but whoever comes up with the $ first is getting it. So it's slow going and I'm seriously homicidal when I don't have a bike to ride and I'm itching to tear into this chopper to start repairs. Luckily I have a shitload of parts for my Roadstar that need to be installed. Just pulled the wires through my apes tonight. Thanks for all the help guys.

Thank god that you didn't get hurt. I've had 3 accidents with idiots doing the same thing and each time the other driver was sited. Each time they had insurance and each time their insurance paid for everything. Nothing should come out of your pocket. Each time progressive was my insurance, they paid nothing. Be patient and take care.

Moe, gald YOU are ok :2thumbs::2thumbs: when I read stuff like this it gives "life" a whole new meaning and dimension.

As far as the bike goes - its a shame, one of the better one's out there. On the bright side you get to "play" - maybe you can now get the rake you were looking for -:lol::lol:

Insurance will work out for you - just don't sweat it - it is going to be a processes and a bit fustrating.

Hang in there and G@@D LUCK

Get a motorcycle accident attorney.
There is a reason they are calling asking so many questions
