Crane's not shutting down. They were just bought by another company out of New Jersey. Nothing seems to be changing except ownership.

Maybe I read it wrong, but it doesn't sound like an ownership change. Mikronite bought them in 2006.

I had a crane ignition in the chop before... when the plastic pos tabs for the cam pick up cup broke and the ignition was junk. It took them 4 fuckin months to replace it. I was smart enough to buy a Dyna 2Ki a few days after the crane broke and its all metal. Fuck Crane junk

Shit - that makes me feel uneasy. I replaced the stock one this fall after I had all of my problems. I put a Crane Hi4 in it.
Thats what I put in. Don't feel so bad, I'm sure my issue was a fluke. Alhall has been running one for a while with no problems. But when you compare the crane vs the dyna. Its a world of difference. Plus, what company lets a warrenty claim go that long? If I didn't buy something else my bike would have been down half the summer.

Keith don't listen to his belly aching, I've had the crane HI4 in my bike for going on 2 years and no problems at all.

Unfortunatly the hand writing has been on the wall for quite awhile :angry: .Their motorcycle division had some real good,knowledgable people,that I am proud to call my friends.

hey Gas - do you have an issue with the RPM's reading double? The stock pick-up was a single and the Crane / Dyna are both doubles. Ever since I put it on, my tach reads double the amount it should. I talked to Al and he has not had this issue. Just wondering if there is a switch somewhere I did not move.
