Cracked 06 ridgeback sidecovers !!!!

Does anyone know of aftermarket sidecover for ridgebacks.I don't want to support a company that wants to rape me for 400 plus dollars for something that should have never happened .I emailed Bob lockwood and he said there was know service bulletin.....bs.My local dealer went under and it took a while to find anotherdealer in my area.

A lot of us have had issues with the ears breaking off. I ended up fiberglassing the ear back on. Ugly on the inside but can't tell from the outside.

Already replied to the intro. Glad to have you "damage". Did the ears break off or was it more drastic than that?

Mine actually cracked through the mount holes and then broke off cover,just a bunch of pieces...nothing really left to fix lol.Guess i'm gonna have to fabricate some out of light gauge mild steel or stainless.Something that won't crack BIGDOG....thats why i hate engineers , they should have to work in the field first,before getting a degree.

Looked 2 weeks ago on ebay... i better look again. Wanna ride that piece.

I would search under several names on Ebay. Battery cover, cowling, sidecover, ect. But Big Dog should be in there somewhere. Don't know of anything that would interchange with them. If you have the tools and skill, then fabrication may be you cheapest way out. I'm pretty sure there was a recall for these. Look under the subtitle recalls in the technical forum.

good luck on finding them. yes, there was a service bulletin on them a couple years ago with a re-designed mounting system. and it is BikersDream of Atlanta.

I had an 05 bulldog that the side covers broke through the mounting holes on. I had it repaired and painted by BD. The dealer took care of it so I don't know if it was done under my warranty or if there was a service letter out there that covered it.

Would try another dealer to see if they might offer up some help with it or call BD directly. Some service letters leave it up to the dealer as to whether or not they want to cover certain things.

Yeah, been emailing with Mr Bob Lockwood bigdog customer service and he informs me that he can't help me because bike is out of warranty.I informed him i tried to have it taken care of when the bike was under warranty but all the dealers in my area either stopped dealing bigdogs or went under like my dealer.I traveled 120 miles to another state to buy this bike.I'm not here toshit talk the bike ,i love it.It's just that bigdog knows their was a problem and should stand by thier product.I think a Goverment bailout is in order here.Why not we already gave way 27 trillion to foreign banks and congress can't even ask the fed where it went !.....Just an idea !

well if bdm wont help ya.. I guess that sux... maybe you could get a sheetmetal shop to make some custom covers.. then get em painted to match.. yeah I know bdm should stand behind it but some times you have to get shit done on your own...
