ok. installing 600 cam and new roller lifters, quickie pushrods with new S&S entire topend...first does anything change on pushrod adjustment with brand new lifters. just put assembly lube on and adjust? or do i let them sit in new motor oil, install and adjust? also have cylinders and heads off to be diamond cut, gonna run hone thru cylinders and install new rings and piston clips...will mobil synthetic be ok for breakin or do i go back to dino oil for breakin? just to let you know...14,000 miles and cylinders still have good crosshatch in them...few very small vertical marks that you can see but not feel...lots of carbon on piston tops...sachs will be working over heads and carb.

Nothing changes for the pushrod adjustment with new lifters. I recommend submerging the lifters in oil overnight if possible. I cut an oil quart bottle and stand the lifters up so all of the air will bleed out of the lifters. If you do this overnight, the lifters will already be pumped up for the most part when you fire the engine. I highly recommend that you check the cylinders to make sure they are not out of round as well even though the engine has low miles. You stated that the cylinders have very small vertical marks. How do the piston skirts look? The marks could indicate that the cylinders are not true. I do not like to use synthetic oil during break in because it is too slick in my opinion, and may not allow the piston rings to seat properly. If my memory hasn't failed me (yet) I believe the valve springs are only rated up to a .575 lift cam, so you should probably beef them up as well.
