Counter-Balanced motor?

Energy One

Is there a way to have the existing motor ('05 Chopper) turned into a counter-balanced one? I've seen several sites advertising that they can do it, but nothing local.

On that note, how 'bout dropping in a Harley balanced "B" motor?

I ask all this as my bike is getting to the point of either being replaced, or fixed up to last me another number of years. Currently have 85,000 miles on her, and I feel that at least a top end is due very soon. Was just thinking that if I end up keeping the bike, why not invest enough in it to make it "like new", and perhaps even upgrade to something counter-balanced.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Ride safe!

don't think it will work - you can get an adapter plate to put a TC A motor in an evo frame but not a B

I have often thought about that myself, why can't it be done, Harley has managed to do it. Why couldn't you take a Harley motor and add the S&S 124 kit to it.

Here's another idea, there are a lot of shock absorbent materials that are made to today for the aircraft industry. they are used in a variety of places, such as engine mounts on the airframe, why couldn't you use a very thin mount on the motor and trans on a Bigdog. I'm not saying a rubber mount like on the Harleys, but a 3/16 or less of a hard material that is designed for damping out vibrations.

If it ain't broke....don't fix it. A lot of the mystique of the Big Dog is the shake of the S&S Evo engine!!!
