Coughing through the carb at highway speeds

Hello everyone, since I've own my 06 K9 117 s&s I've had coughing thru the carb. Watched s&s carb videos and inspected the spark plugs. The final conclusion was a lean carb. So I have rejetted the g carb main jet from 0.76 to 0.78. Ran better but still coughed. So I went up to 0.80 still the same. My next option is possibly intermediate jet. I've also heard that my intake which is a cone shaped intake could be causing the problem. Any thought out there.

What direction are you running the spike? My Pit would exhibit an unexpected cough @ hiway speeds. Spike was pointing forward. Turned it up and the cough stopped.

Not sure if you read this but if you did pay close attention to what it says. Go through the adjustments and tests again and act accordingly . Don't discount the air bleed. Also look for intake leaks adding extra air to the puzzle.

That's what I had to do with mine. Also make sure that the vent plug is removed from the carb.
Someone show him a picture of where that plug is located.

That's what I was thinking of doing. The cough gets worse when running into the wind thanks.

Yeah, make sure this plug is removed if it isn't already.
