For anyone out there that has cut the cylinders or milled the heads whats the approx. cost to have this done and what else is required?

I have the 600 cam and G carb and a ThunderHeart ignition waiting to go on.

Any help/recommendations would be appreciated. Also it has 6500 miles.

If you were to choose the cylinders to be cut about $75 for the job. You will need to know the head gasket crush size up front and to be accurate you need to have the heads cc to know the area you are working with. You will need to know how far each piston is down in the hole to know how far it is to a zero deck condition. As it was explained to me by John, the way to check deck height is on the left side, directly over the wrist pin,and then turn your fixture 180 degrees, and check the right side directly over the wrist pin. Any difference, split it. The S&S cylinders are proud anywhere from .004" to .007" in the sleeve area. You will need a top end gasket kit about $75.00 as well as a Rocker cover box gasket kit about $48.00. Seeing how you will have the cylinders off you really need to replace the rings as well so when the cylinders are honed you will prevent leakage.
John Sachs here on the forum can cover if you choose to mill the heads due to specialized equipment he has or can tell you what it entails.
The picture is one John had posted so kudo's to him for this screen shot.

Thanks Neil, very helpful.

Yeah a PM or call to Mr. Sachs may be in order.
