I started to fill out the survey but, I stopped when it asked for too much personal information.

My first suggestion would be to make this a more secure process. I mean, I believe that you are who you say you are; however, I don't usually give out my name, address and, phone number to strangers on the internet.
I agree Wolf... I checked it all out, but backed out at the last moment. That is just way too much... come on!!!!

This survey seemed more like demographic research, than a call to assist in product development. Since I do not knowingly volunteer my personal information and consumer tendencies to any business (including BDM), I chose not to participate.

Welcome Sir..... I too must admit that this site helped me make the final decision to go with a Big Dog. I find the interaction and information on this site is invaluable. As my daddy use to say.... "you can s++t the fans but you can't s++t the players. This site is full of players. Sometimes they can be harsh critics, but they are truthfull, and they are here for a simple reason...the love of their big dogs and to share their wealth of knowledge on them so everyone can just go... "RIDE and ENJOY".
I have filled out the survey and hopefully can contribute .

As I live in the UK and have been told by BDM before that they cannot help me with anything because I don't live in the US I'm guessing I would not be eligible for this survey. Its a shame because the few of us who do live outside the USA have to pay more for our bikes, more for our parts, wait longer for our parts and have zero dealer support. That to me shows a dcent level of commitment to BDM. If you are interested in me completing the survey let me know and I will take a look at it.

Having said all that my overriding view is that you absolutely must produce a bike that the owner of that bike can trust - it must be reliable. I think Big Dogs are fantastic bikes and I love mine but there seem to be the same reliability issues cropping up far too often.

In my opinion you must take note of these issues and correct them before looking at expanding the range. There is every type of bike in terms of style and performance out there and I guess a lot of them, particularly custom builds / manufactured customs are unreliable. I understand the current electrical system is being changed and that is a great start.

Reliability is what will differentiate your product from the rest and attract a loyal customer base. If that means losing some of the BDM proprietary parts then so be it.

Apologies if this sounds like a rant but neither I nor anyone else on this forum will be less than honest with you.

Good luck
Lee

Filled it out, I better not get a bunch of junk mail etc. or we're gonna have problems.

Welcome, and if you really want to know how to do things better I'd suggest you take some time to read about the continued issues we've all had with our bikes.

Sent. Welcome to the site. As mentioned before - if you want to get really good feedback on your bikes, just take a look around. When you get done looking at every thread in The Alley, try the tech section - there are a lot of good threads in there.
