On my 4th broken belt. Motor has been hopped up but it all started with the new Avon rear tire. All four belts damaged while running the new Avon. It seems much softer, thus hooking better than the original Avon and the Metzler... And yes, alignment, tension, and teeth on the pulleys are within spec. The cause of this is the right wrist. I called Kendall Johnson customs in Winston Salem NC and they have converted many Dogs over to chain drive. According to them the suggest 23 t front and 51t rear with the 530 chain. I have heard 24/48 from baker. Has anyone done this with the 23/51 combination? I want to keep the ratio as close to stock as i can. A liitle lower wouldn't hurt but I don't want to be turning high rpm's at 70mph either. thanks

I"M SO Glad i found this thread. I had my bike for going on 2 seasons . And i'm tired of replaceing 200.00 belts. ( 133 tooth, by 1 1/8 width).

I've made up my mind , i want to convert to chain. With one master link, if it should break or even stretch. i'd be way ahead and be able to change roadside unlike belt setup.

so i drive a 2005 bigdog (chopper model) and honestly find the prices on bdm.com site to be over priced. ei, rear sprocker, 589.00 (and not even in stock). I think it's a money grab. I could go to a machine shop and have one made WAAAAY CHEAPER .

i'm reaching out to knowledgeable site as to what i will need to convert to chain.
where can i buy parts . I"m in moncton , nb.

any help will be apprecited. My bike is laid up as the belt is broken and rear pulley is worn out. Seems the dealership sold me a used bike where i have to be the wallet on all the worn out parts. Little more than upset, after paying 20 g's

aslo i need compression bubbles for my 117ci s and s engine. (just the rubber dome part) where do i get these at?
