Converting FI to Carb?

2008 FI K9 guy wants me to rip out the FI and convert it to a carb. Anyone ever do this? How does the FI affect timing and ignition, if at all? Will he need to change out the ignition? I don't know the first thing about FI.

And a shit load more "I think" ....for SURE the throttle body is quite different for FI as compared to Carb. Then again a new one its not too expensive.
I also believe Lee is correct = ignition needs to change
You will also need to plug O2 sensors
Pull the fuel pump and make some mods to accomodate a petcock.

If it is a MUST it surely could be done along with some considerable spend - might have to touch up/paint the tank depending what you come up with for the petcock.

Good luck man

Moe,
Here is the same question I posted a long time ago and Ohmster from the factory chimed in around link #16. Read through the thread.

But if you are bound and determined to do it you would need a carb, intake, a new airbreather backplate if you have the BDM cover on, intake seals, check valve, VAC hoses, throttle cables, coil, coil harness, spark plug wires, EHC, power harness, ignition module, mod the fuel tank with a petcock and repaint the tank. Personally, I do not think the EHC needs to be changed out or the factory does not want you to think they are compilable. I gave my EFI, EHC to a friend with a carb bike to use.
