I have a 2009 k-9 with 13,500 miles. looking to go to the 585 cam. should I change/upgrade lifters or anything else while I'm in there? I'm not looking to go real far into the motor and do major performance mods to it. would just like to give it a little more than stock.

I did the 585 cam change on my 2009 efi k-9 but only had about 5000 miles or less and used everything that was original to the bike except for cam bearing and new gaskets of course. I think S@S recomends changing lifters at 25,000 miles or so. If it were me with 13,500 on your k-9 I would go with new lifters to. Jims big wheel lifters or something comparable. Do a search on lifters to find the best ones. Hope this helps Cody and good luck! I think you will like the cam if you change it. Then your bike will literally shake the ground at idle.

I did it at 23,000 miles, would suggest you get the new lifters and some quickie push rods. This way if you decide to change lifters or cam or change out the push rod tube seals in the future, you wont have to break into the rocker boxes again.
