Hello, I have just installed a New Speedometer on my 2007 Pitbull... I was just wondering if the Speedometer is connected to the Front or Back Wheel... I have it on a lift, and the needle never moved, but everything else works... Thanks for any help guys...:flag:

I have a 2007 Big Dog Pitbull. It has about 986 miles on it and one day it just stop working... So i went on Ebay and got a new speedometer and I have Like 6 inches of snow here so I cant get on the road to test it out... All the lights and the Needle went to 60 mph and did the pre Speedometer check and I started it up on the lift and just let it run in 1st Gear for a min and the speedometer Needle never moved... Just reallly confused on what I should do next... OH Yea the weather isn't getting any better for me to test it out on the road... Thanks...

I had the same issue. How old is your battery. Might want to check that out. Need 12.8v. If battery is weak will have issue with speedo.

Welcome Fuma,

Let's start at the beginning... First thing, the battery needs to be fully charged...When you turn on the key you should see the calibration number and the speedo needle will do the reset SWEEP. Check that the battery terminal wire crimps are all crimped tight and battery connections are tight as well.

As mentioned above...The speedo sensor is on the trans, but being more helpful it's on the right side lower area of the trans down by the drive pulley---Check those wires and the connection to the sensor.

Also make sure the speedo head wires and connections are all good. May need to check with a meter. Red/12v, Black/Ground, Green/Signal.

To test...Lift the rear wheel off the ground and run the bike in gear or drive it.

Good Luck and let us know the results.

NOTE: make sure you let the speedo complete it's sweep BEFORE you try to crank the bike. :2thumbs:

Thanks for the help... I think my next step will be a new Battery... Everything else seem to be in line and connected... I might run it over to Cycle City in Tennessee and let them figure it out... The weather is nothing but ice and snow so I cant get it out to do anything else... I love this site and thanks for all the respones so fast... I will post whatever I figure out..... Thanks.....

Have them flash your EHC, this will help with the speedo issues.

don't be surprised if the flash doesn't work. some of the EHC's (mine and shane's for 2) were corrupted and would not accept the correction. hasn't kept it from working but eventually it will quit. but that's nothing new.

and yes, jason was the one that tried to do the flash in daytona when he was there at carl's speed shop, so i know i wasn't being BS'd.
