Good for WI!
IL probably needs this law the most with 4-5 people getting bushwhacked every night in Chicago lately, it seems.
...NOT the place you want to be after dark anymore without your friends Smith & Wesson with you!

My best friends here in Chicago are:
mr. Ed Brown, sir Desert Eagle .50AE and their little buddy 1911 Colt

Michigan passed CC (CPL) permits in 2001 they said it was going to turn into the wild wild west here. Never happened.
Now people are starting to make it the norm to open carry
I would much rather see everyone packing some heat in the open.
I personally would feel safer.
Everyone here is used to everyone having a CCW or CPL licence here now..

Mine too - Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson...I just can't take my 'friends' with me concealed! :zzdisappointed:

But rest assured, they're not too far away should I ever need their assistance to resolve a 'situation' at home! :zwhistle:

Don't like open carry.

It let's the real bad guys know who to target first.

Concealed keeps everyone guessing and multiplies the threat to the bad guys.

Sure it is easier to open carry, but I don't want a target on my back.

I would only like open cary to the degree that if someone did get a glimpse of your sidearm it would not be an issue. Here in NY if your in a store and reach for something you could end up with the SWAT Team showing up!

I agree IL sucks. I have CCW permits for FL, UT, and PA. So I can carry in most states EXCEPT my home state (well at least legally).
IL Gov't needs to revise their thinking

The police officer who ran our ccw class in Missouri recommended that we do not have any decals on our vehicles such as DU or NRA, he stated that just tips off the Illinois troopers that you may have weapons in your car or truck

I just got my 32 state CC permit in AZ. NRA course, 4 hrs, gives you a lot of insight into what the various laws are, and when you're allowed to shoot someone. Well worth the $90.
