compression releases

hey proly sound stupid but whats the deal with compression releases? i have a 2003 pitbull how do i tell if i have them. if i don't how big of a job is it to add them on. what do they do make the engine easier to turn over when starting. pro's and con's?

You should be able to stick a finger down in the hole in the middle of your rocker boxes. If you feel some rubber you got them. If you don't you don't.

It looks like a balloon in the hole in your rocker box.

if you dont have them, the 03's were prewired for them. very simple install.

If you have them you will be able to see them in the center of your rocker boxes. They are activated by your starter button and open for a split second to release some pressure for the initial start.
The require a special 2 pc socket to put them in and all 03's are pre wired so they just plug right in and work.
