Compression releases stuck open

has anyone had their compression releases get stuck in the open position? Even with my battery disconnected my releases are pushed down completely and won't come back up. Has anyone had this happen? Or know how I can get them to release? Tried hitting the slam button a couple times but they won't come back up

I haven't had any issues in fact the only issue on my 05 and 2011 mastiffs have been weak batteries that's it

Some of us maintain them spraying a bit of WD-40 ( 3 in 1 in my case) once every two months or so.

Grab a cutter, make a small slid on the cover (condom) small enough for just the straw to get in there..... give them a good dose of juice and let them soak over night.... give them a bit of a hand-job..... if still stuck.... you might have a broken spring.

interesting ill have to do this just as preventative maint, so a small slice (in top ,or side?) and some wd 40 is the trick?

side, rear, less chances of water or debris getting in there... very small cut... just enough for the straw to get in there.

A couple shots only. Yup the condoms are just to keep the rain/dust away.

CR pin goes down inside the solenoid, where you want the WD-40 to go is down the shaft, if you just squirt it inside the condom its not getting down the shaft to lube it. If you put the straw in the slit and then use your other finger to feel the top of the CR pin, get the straw on the shaft, little squirt and work it, another squirt and work it, you get the idea.

Thanks guys, I'm having problems with mine, I had them wired to a switch to operate manually so I can use a slam button, well the switch was left on for a couple hours & they were engaged the whole time with the bike off sitting in the garage, and they were blistering hot when I touched them. I turned the switch off as soon as I realized it was like that, and then the bike sat for about a week, fast forward to today, I was messing with the bike and somehow ended up freling the releases with my fingertip to see how the rubber boot felt and tried pressing them in and they wouldn't move. They were both stuck down. When I put 12v to the release wire I can hear a slight click from the front one and a slight movement, and nothing from the back. Now after starting the bike and letting it warm up a bit they both become unstuck and seem to work just fine like normal. They both come in and out when I apply 12v just like they should. when the bike cools, if I push them down (they don't push down easily like before all this) they don't want to come back up, but will come back up once it starts and runs for a few seconds. I haven't taken the bike out for a ride to see if that helps "unstick" them or makes any difference, but I let it run for about 5 minutes in the garage, long enough to get it hot. And both releases worked fine afterwards, I don't know what could be causing them to "stick" if that's the right word. But short of pulling them out and inspecting/replacing I don't know what I can do to help this situation besides ride the bike and see what happens. Fingers crossed haha

That's what I would do and then just check to make sure they are free to move over time. Maybe you skirted a problem this time, Glad ya figured it out.
