compression release

Lost my front compression release the other day. Been researching on here about replacement. Shop quoted me around $480 to do it with 2 releases. I found this website selling them individually. My question is will this release work?
S&S Cycle Compression Release Assembly 90-4914

Its for an 08 k9 with a 117 and s&s rocker. I figured even with the tool I would still be around $200, that is unless someone local has one. Any Utah riders own one?

I don't think you can beat that deal. Ive never pulled the rockers before or adjusted the pushrods so I'm a little concerned about that, hopefully I'll be able to figure it out. Am I going to need any gaskets for the rocker? The shop said normally you don't need to replace unless they are damaged upon removal.

You won't need to adjust the pushrods.
Put the front piston at TDC before you loosen the bolts.
The only gaskets you "Might Need" are the rocker cover gaskets.
If you don't have a service manual then email me at wsworx@gmail.com and I will send you a PDF version.

Do you even need to pull the rocker covers?? I installed mine without removing anything. I did pull the tank just to get torque wrench clearance, but that's it.

Had to torque the release first, then carefully fish the wire down beside the release and then fish it thru the passage under the rocker. The condoms were a bitch to get on too, but a little lube and they did slide on.

Others??

No, you can do it that way but I have found that it is quicker and easier to just pull the rocker cover and rocker assembly.
