I went out for 120 mile cruise started hearing some sound funny coming from my engine after a quick inspection noticed my compression release had come apart from the front of my Jug. Not sure if it hard to replace or it can be put back together. do i need to worry about the other pieces still being inside. Can i miss up the engine? Please help. 2008 Rigdeback 9500 miles

Looking forward to retirement
Unscrew it out of the head and make damn sure all internal pieces are accounted for!!! If not. Pull your head!!!!! Head gasket $20, piston, jug, valve job and resurfacing head... Couple of thousand!

Do a search, not to long ago someone posted the same issue. I would think that if the bike was running at the time the compression release let go, the plunger and insides are all over the highway somewhere. I would just replace the compression release and ride on.
