I'm not sure if the picture came out OK. Never put one in before. Anyway on my BD the rear cylinder compression release wire goes in from the top. The front cylinder the wire goes through the side. My question is is this a normal way to run the wire? I haven't seen any others looking like this. If its not the way it should be can it be changed so its not so noticeable? Hope the picture came out. Then you can see exactly what the heck I'm talking about. Thanks!

No thats not how it should be. not sayin its hurint anything though. i just had to replace my rear release (no pun intended). Cut the old wire loose, resoldered and heat shrink. The wire runs under the rocker box on the head between the casting for the pushrods pockets and the valve springs.:hi:

Should be routed under the rocker box as mentioned above, however don't cut the wire. I would go under the gas tank disconnect it remove the connector. Then I would guide a small wire under the rocker box making it come out the top of the rocker cover, tie them together and pull it out the bottom. Put the connector back on, connect it back where it was and your done. You may not have to remove the connector, I think there should be enough room to pull it through. :whoop:
