Compression Release Auto Intermittent

Hello All

I have an 07 K-9. My compression releases do not work every time. While riding today at every stop I tried pushing the engine off button before hitting the start and the releases worked every time. Did I get lucky or is there a relation? Anybody know what triggers them to work?

I can still manually push them down, they click and seem to work that way. Am I manually arming them or is the auto system making them work???

thay work for 1 second when the start button is pressed ,, the ehc turns them on then off after 1 second to help starting.. now S&S recomends thay be hooked to the starter solenoid. to operate while the starter is engaged,, but the ehc wont handle that load for that long so bdm decided to use them off the ehc instead of the solennoid... to check em unplug the starter solenoid & hit the start button.. you'll here em & you can place your finger on them as well....thay will pull down

Can they be wired to a seperate switch you could hold in while starting? Mine don't always release.
