complete novice frontend ???

sorry for the newb type question but what different kind of front ends can i use for my big dog ridgeback is it basicly same as a harley front end or is big dog specific to it's self? i have to completly replace my front end on mine due to a fire

You can replace it with about anything you like. Springer, Girder, Hyd or whatever. But you will need to consider handlebars, headlight mounts, turn signals, fender mounts, brakes and spacers. Anything is doable with a little work on your end.

If you are asking if anything is an automatic fit then probably no except the stock unit.

Get the specs from your manual and call some different suppliers. There are plenty of choices out there meanstreet, american suspension, pro one, ultima, and so on. If you decide to change from stock just be prepared to do some wheel spacing or hub shimming and or machining and possibly some fender mount spacing. I've changed my front end a couple times and nothing was that difficult.

if your brake is still good then make sure the new front end mounts are for a 2000 + up.

Keep an eye out on Shovelheadkicker and his other listings on eBay. He has a lot of parts you may need. You can send him a message for what you need also. He gets all the left over stock from BDM.

If you need a front caliper I just bought one off of here for a $100 of a 08 Ridgeback that you can have for the same. I was going to powder coat it at a later date.....

hey guys thanks with all the help. derick helped me out a ton had a complete front end and at a kickass price. i give you the story on my bike i'm an auto painer and have a few different projects there is a guy coulpe of blocks from me that buys wrecks salvage bikes ect... and fixes them and resales them i stop buy every now and then to see the new toys about a year ago he had a ridgeback come in and she has set in storage since. i sold my bike in january and been thinking about building something talked to my buddy he said get it the fuck out of his shop it was taking up to much damn space anyhow.he would have like to build it someday but knows if get it it would get built then he'd still get to ride it .
