Any good recommendations for an aftermarket coil that will replace the stock? Or who makes the stock coil so I won't necessarily have to go through BDM/dealer - trying to short circuit the process:lol:  ? 2007 - K9. (may probably go the Vulcan route later on this winter)

Also, need to replace my spark plug wires (diamond cut head causing some damage..want to get there before it becomes an issue - no don't want to go the service bulletin and warranty route - too much of a hassel). Dug this out...the 5MM product. Anyone used these or have recommendations?

Another round please
I don't think the 5mm work well. You need to go about 8mm if I recall. These bikes are touchy and some wires don't work.

You're stock coil is a Crane so don't get much better. As recommended earlier by barhopper stick with the 8mm wires. I think they already are Accel! You don't want any interferrence with your EHC.

You can loosley put a Zip tie on the wires to take up some slack and keep them off the cooling fins...this will stop the rub...not to tight just enough to stop them from resting on the fin....the cover hides it so only you will know...my .02

my theory was it was the best part out there for the application.
if i do that with everything hopefully it runs the best it can. i also now mix my own gas

1 gallon vp110
3 gallons 93
1 oz. lucas fuel treatment

i also have a thunderstart battery 335 cca

basically fine tune my bike.

i'm happy with how it runs so far

my next change is ignition, but not sure what to get withouit getting into problems with wiring it

Direct replacement for the stock. Same unit, only fully programmable with a laptop. Two Thumbs Up on mine!!!!

Crane 8-3005 should be the one you need.

Staffy.. don't run the crane unit. Or at least take this warning...
They melt and go boom. After you push your bike home for a 1/2 mile. Then when they go to warrenty it, it takes them 8 weeks!!

DYNA 2Ki all the way.

All metal unit and completely built in CA, not imported like the crane

And you can get a crane or dyna that will wire in under the seat like your current setup and Jake's new dilly.
